Summer Reading Kick-off Celebration with Cape Cod Mermaids @ Eldredge Public Library @ 1:30 pm
Calling all artists, art appreciators, and colorful characters! The Eldredge Public Library invites YOU to Color Our World with art, stories, and creativity during our exciting 2025 Summer Reading Adventure! Families, children, and teens are welcome to join us as we explore the vibrant world of imagination, creativity, and discovery through books, activities, and engaging programs all summer long. We’ll be celebrating creativity and exploring the many ways we can make the world more colorful together. This summer, in partnership with the Creative Arts Center, we’ll dive into artistic expression and the countless ways color shapes our lives: from radiant rainbows arching across the sky and vibrant flowers blooming in gardens, to brilliantly colored fish beneath the sea and delicious foods brightening our plates. This year’s theme is all about self-expression, community, and the colorful connections we build through art, storytelling, and shared experiences. Whether you’re diving into a book, painting a masterpiece, exploring nature’s palette, or learning a new skill, we want you to add your unique hue to the world around you.

Summer reading kick-off day is finally here! Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to join us for an astounding start to our summer reading program. The Cape Cod Mermaids will be swimming to shore to kick-off our summer of fun with this enchanting live performance which blends dazzling aerial acrobatics, whimsical storytelling, and magical mermaid charm to create an unforgettable experience for all ages. Watch as graceful mermaids soar through the air, spin, and twirl in a breathtaking display of strength and beauty. Perfect for families, ocean lovers, and anyone ready for a little library magic under the sea. Registration for the kick-off celebration is not required.

Registration for the Color Your World summer reading adventure will open immediately following this performance. During registration, Liam Goley, a hometown favorite, will be on hand to share his astonishing juggling skills before he heads out on tour with Circus Smirkus! Face-painting, glitter tattoos, pictures with the mermaids, and chalk art will also be part of this summer reading celebration.

If you can’t attend the Kick-off Celebration, you can still register any time in Youth Services to participate in the summer reading program between July 1st and August 16th. Find more information on our website at www.eldredgelibrary.org.
