Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Children’s Room is closed, and some materials may be unavailable for circulation.  Since March we have had several changes to the day-to-day ways of doing business at the EPL.  And they are just that – changes – not a shutdown or an interruption of services other than the physical, in-person exchange of materials or meet-ups for programming.  We are still accessible and learning new things, ourselves, as we navigate the landscape of our virtual public library.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Youth Services staff for questions, concerns, book recommendations, or a much-missed “hello!”

Welcome to Youth Services! Located on the first floor, rear section of the library, the Children’s Room invites you and your family to stay awhile and enjoy the variety of literacy-based activities and resources that support PLA/ALA’s Every Child Ready to Read initiative and its five early literacy practices: singing, talking, reading, writing, and playing.

A diverse collection, selected and organized for children, families, and professionals with a broad range of reading abilities, needs, and interests includes:

  • Board Books
  • Picture Books
  • Beginning Readers
