What do the Friends do?

Programs

The Friends give financial support for fun, innovative and educational youth and adult programming throughout the year.    Pick up a calendar of events at the Library or check out our online calendar.

Volunteer Opportunities for the Friends

Some of our Friends members volunteer to support the library staff, while others work with the Friends Board to bring services and programs to our community.  Volunteer activities for Friends of EPL include, but are not limited to, Friends book sale, hospitality and event planning, fundraising and the Learning Series.

Financial Assistance

The Friends provide funding for the purchase of special projects and equipment, public computers, youth and adult programming, website maintenance, BookPage, museum passes and other needs as they arise.

Book Sale

The Friends of the EPL run a year-round Book Sale in the Forgeron Room on the building's lower level. There are thousands of books for you to add to your personal library or give as gifts, all at rock-bottom prices.

Learning Series

The Friends sponsor a Fall and Spring learning series each year. It is a program of enlightening and entertaining courses open to the public at a suggested donation of $10 per course. The series takes place Mondays through Fridays in the lower level of the library, unless otherwise noted. Contact the Learning Series chairperson at learningseries@eldredgelibrary.org or call the Library at 508-945-5170 for more information or questions.

Museum Passes

The Friends purchase passes to many local and regional museums to cover or reduce the cost of your family's admission.  Click on the link above to see the full list of passes we offer.  Advance reservation is suggested.  Please call the Front Desk (508-945-5170) to reserve your pass and if you have any further questions.
