Eldredge Public Library provides access to high quality databases that can provide you with reliable information on a variety of topics. This information is often not available on the "free" Internet. The following databases are provided by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, the Massachusetts Library System and the Eldredge Public Library.

Due to the recent cuts to federal funding, there have been changes to the State funded library resources.

Massachusetts residents have access to a wide range of free, high-quality digital resources through the Boston Public Library (BPL), many of which can serve as alternatives to those no longer available through statewide systems. These databases are available from home or in the Library to Eldredge Public Library CLAMS card holders. 

NoveList is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more for over 120,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interest to fiction readers, such as Author Read-alikes, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Feature Articles. For school media specialists and teachers there are Standards- Based Thematic Units and Picture Book Extenders, as well as specific teaching guides for using fiction in the classroom.

Hoopla is a digital media service that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone - and even your TV! With no waiting, titles can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later. We have hundreds of thousands of titles to choose from, with more being added daily.  All you need is your Eldredge Public Library card and an email address.

  The Cape Cod Times newspaper database offers full text articles from November 1, 1998 to current editions.

AtoZ World Food is an online resource that contains more than 7,000 traditional recipes from 174 countries, along with thousands of ingredient, food culture, and reference articles, making it the largest food database of its kind.

AtoZ Food America contains more than 2,000 state, regional, and ethnic recipes—including food culture articles—as well as historical and reference articles including an ingredients section.  It is the largest food database of its kind focused solely on diverse American cuisine.

AtoZ The USA is an unmatched resource for information about the people, culture, geography, government, history, indigenous peoples, food, and symbols of the US states and the United States itself

AtoZ World Culture includes 121 topics for 175 countries. Starting with a country snapshot and cultural overview, topics include:  climate; food and recipes; history; language; maps; money and much more. AtoZ World Culture includes teaching tools and lesson plans for educators.

AtoZ World Travel includes 202 world city travel guides covering 67 topics each. The travel guides cover a multitude of topics that are of interest to those planning their international travel. Consumer Reports is an online resource that provides trusted ratings and reviews, recommendations and buying advice for thousands of products and services.
