The Friends of EPL Learning Series continues its spring line-up with Why Birds Sing, a two day event that combines learning at the Library with a field trip. Spring season has an ambience about it that includes bird song. There are many reasons why birds sing.  First it is part of the breeding process and a security system- a surprise to most.  Second the other noises birds make also have meaning. The program will be held in two Sessions:

  • Tuesday May 5, 10:30 am: On the first day of this course, convened in person at the Library, Phil Kyle will explore the different sounds backyard birds make and their meaning.
  • Wednesday May 6 field trip, 8:00 am: On the second day, we will join Phil at Fort Hill for a field trip to observe and hear bird songs in the wild.

Registration is required. For more information, visit the Learning Series webpage.Â
