The Eldredge Public Library is now open six days a week for in-person services. This includes browsing, public computer use, faxing/copying/printing services, new library card signups, and more!  No appointment needed!

The Library is open 10 AM to 5 PM Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and Tuesday and Thursday 1 PM to 7 PM.

Patrons are required to wear a mask inside the Library.  Our priority is to manage the safety and well-being of our staff and patrons while increasing library services and access. We ask for your patience and kindness as we navigate our “new normal” in the world of Covid-19.

Is the Library open?

  • We are open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm  and Tuesday and Thursday from 1 pm to 7 pm for browsing, computer use, fax/scan/copy services, new library card sign up and more.    

What services do you offer that are contactless?

  • We offer virtual programming for all ages, reader's advisory (staff picks, books lists, etc), reference service, Wi-Fi 24/7 around the building and homebound delivery.  Please call the library at 508-945-5170 for more information on any of these services.

Can I use a computer?

  • Yes.  We have one adult public computer available during our open hours.  Each patron is limited to a 45 minute time slot per day.  We recommend you make an appointment, but walk-ins will be accommodated as space allows.   Appointment times begin on the hour, and the computer time slot ends 45 minutes past the hour. Patrons may not stay past their 45  minute time slot.

Can I make a copy, scan or print documents?

  • Yes.    Self-service scanning, copying, faxing and wireless printing is available.  

Can I sit and study or read a newspaper?

  • Yes, we currently have limited seating with a 1 hour time limit.  Newspapers are available.  

Is the book sale open?

  • Yes! The book sale, located in the lower level,  is open the same hours as the library.

How do I get a library card?

  • You can apply for a temporary CLAMS card online. You can also come into the Library and either get a new card or convert your temporary card to a permanent card.  To expedite this process, please fill out this form for new cards before you come into the Library.

Where can I return my library materials?

  • The book drop, located in the parking lot behind the Library, is open 24/7.  You will not be able to return your items inside the library.  Please return library items only - no donations.   There will be no overdue fines.    

Why is it taking so long to fulfill my request?

  • Many of the popular titles still have long wait lists.  If the item you requested did not have a wait list, it will take approximately 3 days to travel from the owning library to our library.   If it is an item the EPL owns and it's available, turnaround should be 1 day  pickup or you are welcome to come in and get the item from the shelf.   

Will you take donations?

  • We do take donations by appointment.  Please visit the book sale webpage for more information.  Please do not leave donations by the door or book drop.
